Chapter II
Battles
Your actual CK3 armies, regiments, commanders and champions fight in Bannerlord, in the campaign’s proportions.
The battle
A cinematic introduction presents the engagement: its name, its date, its war, and both sides under their arms. Commander speeches affect morale and health according to Martial and personality.
Named commanders and champions
Your campaign’s own characters take the field with prowess-based skill, health, equipment and existing injuries. Martial shapes a commander’s tactics, deployment and effectiveness as an allied leader.
Culture and troops through the ages
CK3 regiment types become culturally mapped Bannerlord troops, equipped by the campaign date. Authored 867, 1050 and 1168 rosters change the look and kit of levies, specialists, guards and champions.
Large-scale battles
Army scaling and reinforcement waves let substantial engagements play out at their relative strength, with selectable limits up to 6,000 soldiers in the field and 3,000 in sieges, as the engine allows.
Formations and allied armies
Regiments keep their identities, with battle lines, cavalry wings and ranged positions shaped by the commander’s ability. Capable allies support your movements, coordinate attacks, commit reserves and withdraw damaged formations.
Combat options and battle sounds
Configurable cut-through and separate player and AI melee friendly fire. Realistic Battle Sounds adds material-specific impacts, weapon sounds, wounded horses and battlefield voices.
Consequence
Battlefield losses and named characters’ deaths, wounds and maimings carry back into the campaign, with configurable risks. Siege results, prisoners, war losses and war score connect the fighting to CK3’s wider politics.
